We call it blind flange due to the lack of a bore: it is a solid flange and is used to close off the ends of piping systems and pressure vessel openings. Blind Flange can be used in an existing operation flow or for future expansion requirements. Blind flange permits easy access to the interior of a line or vessel once it has been sealed and must be reopened.

Blind flanges are normally used to block up the ends of pipe. Blind flanges are also used on similar valves and pressure vessel openings. Because blind flanges are often located at the ends of pipeline systems, normally these blind flanges are highest pressure flange types. However, most of these stresses are bending types near the center, and since there is no standard inside diameter, these blind flanges are suitable for higher pressure temperature applications. Tongyang use stainless steel, carbon steel and alloy steel for blind flanges. For larger diameter blind flange, tongyang can make it in series A and B according to ANSI B 16.47.
